The mission of the Office of Academic Affairs is to support and enhance teaching and learning at Belmont Abbey College, as a distinctly Catholic, Benedictine undergraduate liberal arts institution.

We are committed to our mission through the continuous support of our Faculty in their teaching, professional activities, and service to the community, as well as through constant efforts to place and maintain academics at the heart of strategic and budgetary planning of the College.

Finally, we recognize and seek to strengthen even further the important role played by the administrative departments that support the academic program, including the Academic Resource Center (ARC), the Center for Continuing & Professional Studies (23+), the Library, the Office of the Registrar, and Career Services & Internships.

Tuition Reset

For the 2013-2014 Academic Year, Belmont Abbey’s Board of Trustees and Administration honored a tuition reset to burst the college tuition bubble and make private, liberal arts education more affordable to students. We are happy to honor this tuition reset and freeze tuition through the 2014-2015 school year.

About the Registrar

The registrar’s function is to organize, manage, and maintain the information that constitutes the lifeblood of the College. Students, courses, and the grades received in those courses come together at the beginning of each semester, as students register for courses, and so the term “registrar” arose.

Some of the most commonly requested services needed by past or present students are enrollment verification, transcript requests, and assessment of advanced credit. The office is also responsible for the academic calendar, each semester’s course schedule, the final exam schedule, and graduation applications.

Fall 2021 Registration

Fall 2021 registration for current seniors (90 or more earned credits) and current juniors (59-89 earned credits) will begin on April 14th, for current sophomores (25-58 earned credits) on April 15th, for current freshman (0-24 earned credits) on April 16th.

In order to be able to register online, every student is required to meet with his/her advisor. Online registration authorization for each student will occur after or during the advisor meeting. If you are unsure of your advisor assignment please log on to Self-Service.

Some important tips as you plan for fall registration:

  • Registration Stops: All students should log on to Self-Service to make sure he/she does not have any stop/holds on his/her account. Registration will not open for students who have holds on their account, so if you encounter a hold you should work to clear it up prior to registration.
  • Transfer of Credits: Approval for transfer credits must occur prior to taking the class to ensure transferability. In general, unless there are extenuating circumstances, only elective credits will be approved for off-campus study. It is also important to note that the last thirty credits of the degree are required to be taken on campus. The application to request transfer of credits may be found in the Registrar’s Office (Crusader Success Hub) and on Self-Service under “Registrar’s Office Forms.”
  • Online Registration: Online registration for each class will open at 8 a.m. on the days listed above. Please be sure you have met with your advisor prior to the date for your registration period.

Online Payment FAQs

What does this mean for me?
Students will now have the flexibility to make payments online on their own schedule without having to wait for a student representative. Furthermore, students will be able to grant parents or guardians the ability to make payments directly to the school on their behalf.

How does this work?
Students can access this payment service directly from their self-service account, after reviewing their account details. Once selected you will be transferred to a secured site, where you can make payments on your outstanding balance or select specific charges to make payments on, such as returning student deposits or graduation fees. You will be able to make payments via ECheck* or credit/debit card. There is a 2.75% merchant service fee for credit/debit card charges.

* EChecks are a similar to writing a check. You will need your bank account number and routing transit number (located at the bottom of your check).

How can I get more information?
Contact billing for any questions at billing@bac.edu.
