“It is not difficult to explain my reasons for choosing to come to school at the Abbey. It is the authenticity in character of the students, the teachers, and everyone I have encountered here. It is the school’s philosophy and commitment to seek truth, excellence, and virtue. The campus is peaceful and alluring, which has always made me feel at home here even though I live 1,000 miles away.”
This Past Week At The Abbey
The Week Kicked off with our Annual Crawfish Boil
Despite the cold, a great turn out of students, staff, and monks showed up with blankets to boot!
In addition to crawfish, there was also alligator and shrimp!
Student Dylan DJ-ed the event.
Everyone was out playing lawn games such as corn hole, Kan Jam, or Spike Ball.

Since the new improvements to Alumni Field, everyone seems to have taken to fence watching!

Creative Corner
Here are select excerpts from our annual literary journal, Agora. It is composed of short stories, poetry, photography, and artwork submitted by our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and monastery.
The journal is facilitated by Dr. Rebecca Munro.
The Abbey makes a splash in the media arts! Agora (BAC’s Literary Arts club) placed again in the 2015 North Carolina College Media contest. Despite some pretty stiff competition from all around the state, we were able to gain an Honorable Mention for photography. The winning photo was “Quest in the Clouds” by Benjamin Webb, pictured below. Go Agora Elves!
