Focus

The office of Campus Ministry has entrusted to it as its primary responsibility the spiritual growth of all members of the College community- students, faculty and staff.

Towards this end, the office of Campus Ministry strives to make visible through its programs the fundamental Christian values professed by the Benedictines. These Benedictine values include the primacy of God and the things of God; a reverence for the sacred; an awareness of the profound meaning and dignity of each person’s existence, and the importance of loving God as expressed through service to others.

By means of the sacraments and both public and private prayer, Campus Ministry attempts to form in students of all faiths a habit of worship, cultivating a rich and personal spirituality. Campus Ministry also strives to create a vibrant community of faith and to assist students in the formation of a Christian conscience which empowers them to make good moral judgments according to Gospel values. Campus Ministry seeks to accompany students as they follow Christ’s great commission to make disciples both at Belmont Abbey College and beyond, putting their gifts and abilities at the service of others and the kingdom of God. Campus Ministry takes an essential part in the Mission of the College and shares in the goal of forming students who profess and live an integrated, authentic Christian life.

We invite you to participate in programs Campus Ministry offers to the Belmont Abbey College community. Take advantage of the many opportunities to serve others, to learn more, and to grow spiritually, “that in all things, God may be glorified.

Are you interested in becoming Catholic?

Learn more about the Catholic Faith

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is for those who are considering whether they want to become members of the Catholic Church, as well as those who are interested in learning about the Catholic faith. These individuals may or may not have been baptized Catholic or were baptized in another faith tradition and are seeking to be fully initiated into the Sacraments of the Catholic community. Those seeking Baptism, Confirmation, or to join the Catholic Church are invited to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and/or Confirmation classes.

While only BAC residential students can receive the Sacraments through the Abbey, all are invited to participate in the program in order to learn more about the Catholic faith.
