Belmont Abbey College announced today that Chris Goff Peeler is assuming the role of Development Officer effective immediately. Chris has served as the Director of Alumni and Community Relations for the past 9 years.

“Chris has done an exceptional job of serving our alumni and providing greater opportunities for Abbey alumni to stay connected and supportive of their alma mater,” said Greg Swanson, Vice President for College Relations & General Counsel. Peeler will join the development team in a more active role to help garner resources to meet the challenges of a consistently increasing enrollment. She will be giving priority to working with donors to increase support of general scholarships in addition to other funding needs of the College. “We are very pleased to have someone with Chris’s skills and talents step into this new role and positively impact the support for our students,” said Swanson.

“It has been a true blessing to work with our alumni over the years. Belmont Abbey alumni are our foundation and I cherish the many relationships I’ve formed on behalf of the college. I look forward to this new opportunity as we raise funds to support our students and our mission,” said Peeler. Chris will retain an office in the Lowry Alumni House. Peeler joins Chris Egan and Aaron Condon in the college’s fundraising department.

The college is also pleased to announce the appointment of a new Director of Alumni Relations, Bridgette Conboy. Bridgette has been teaching in the Charlotte area since graduating from the Abbey in 2015. Conboy brings a unique perspective to her new role. In addition to serving as an Admissions Ambassador, Conboy actively participated in the Abbey Players as a student and continues her involvement even today. She has also been a key participant in Abbey GOLD.

“She understands well the importance of her new role in serving our alumni,” said Chris Peeler. “She will hit the ground running.” Conboy will benefit from the guidance and history of our former Alumni Director, as Peeler will assist in the transition throughout Conboy’s first year.

Conboy’s office will be located in the Lowry Alumni House. She is eager to welcome alumni to campus and to meet them when she travels for events in the upcoming year. “I am excited about giving back to the college I love so dearly. I look forward to working closely with alumni, welcoming them back to campus, and continuing Chris’s work of creating a strong Abbey community. I am delighted to be back on campus and look forward to this new chapter in God’s plan for me.”
