The American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) has recognized the Honors College at Belmont Abbey as one of ten programs in its new “Hidden Gems” initiative. ACTA defines hidden gems as “exceptional programs around the country that deserve the attention of students who want to get an outstanding education at a reasonable price.” This initiative will promote these “hidden gems” to over 50,000 high school college counselors and a large network of charter schools.
The American Council of Trustees and Alumni is a non-profit organization whose stated mission is to “support liberal arts education, uphold high academic standards, safeguard the free exchange of ideas on campus, and ensure that the next generation receives a philosophically rich, high-quality college education at an affordable price.” We are grateful to Dr. Christine Basil, whose efforts played a significant role in providing the college this opportunity.
