Photo from Aviation Week NetworkWilliam Garvey, Belmont Abbey College class of 1968, was recently inducted into the “Living Legends of Aviation.” Garvey, who majored in History during his time at the Abbey, went on to become the Editor-in-Chief at Business & Commercial Aviation Magazine, a leading publication for aviation operators.

In January, Garvey was inducted at the annual ceremony, hosted by John Travolta, along with others including Apollo 13 Commander. Aviation Week Network reported that his acceptance speech “…touched only briefly on his aviation adventures…” and “…acknowledged the help and support of his beloved wife, Tamara.”

Garvey has been editor and contributor for multiple prominent publications, including The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, and National Public Radio.

With this well-deserved recognition, Garvey’s focus, according to Aviation Week Network, is “…on others, not himself.”

Congratulations, Bill!
