Belmont Abbey College is deeply rooted in the Catholic Intellectual Tradition. So, what exactly does that mean for students?

It means wrestling with fundamental questions about life, meaning, and human dignity in the classroom, yet never leaving faith out of the conversation. Our students are able to challenge and encourage each other in meaningful conversation about history, science, economics, and all subjects, while being taught to see how faith and reason are not opposites, but interwoven and dependent on each other.

It means seeing monks on campus, having access to Adoration and Holy Mass every day, and becoming a part of clubs and activities where prayer is encouraged. It means never having to hide your faith, but also never having to hide doubts. Students are encouraged to seek out answers to tough questions, but they have the safety net of professors and curriculum rooted in Truth, rather than secular bias.

We are the only Catholic university for 300 miles and we take that very seriously. We know the beauty, truth, goodness, and peace that a life with Christ offers. We also know that young adults are often trapped in a world of confusion during their years at college. In our 144 year history in the Benedictine tradition, we have offered not only a college, but a home for our students. A place to foster faith, knowledge, and grow in skills that will last a lifetime.

It’s good to be here.
