We are thrilled to begin our first semester of classes for Belmont Abbey College’s new healthcare degree —  a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). This program will give students a liberal arts core and the knowledge and tools they need to serve their communities in the medical field.

Belmont Abbey College will admit pre-Nursing freshmen who will be on track to apply for admission as our first cohort of Nursing program candidates in their junior year. When they graduate they’ll be prepared to work primarily in acute care, long-term care and ambulatory care in hospital, school, travel, and community settings.

Along with a thorough medical education, our nursing students will benefit from a Catholic Bioethics class. This class will give them the foundation to understand medical ethics rooted in a Catholic understanding of the value and dignity of each human being.

This is an opportunity for students who value their liberal arts education and also want to make an impact on the world through medical care. Find more details about the program here

“The introduction of a Nursing degree program at Belmont Abbey College is a prayer answered and presages a joyous new era for Belmont Abbey College,” said college President Dr. Bill Thierfelder. “I look forward with gratitude to the impact our college will make on our hometown and beyond to connect the history of our monks who sought to bring education to the South, to now bringing the very hands and feet of care to the people of our community is sublimely satisfying.”
