Since 2017, Belmont Abbey students have been competing in the State and National Phi Beta Lambda Championships. Due to concerns with the ongoing pandemic, this year’s championships looked a little bit different and was the first time that all of the PBL Competitions were virtual instead of in person. Despite these new challenges, the Belmont Abbey Students who competed this year succeeded in earning places at both the state and national level, and we are overjoyed with these students’ diligent preparation and strong performance!
All of the Belmont Abbey Students that participated in the State PBL competitions went on to compete in the June Phi Beta Lambda National Championship, and every student did an outstanding job in demonstrating virtue as well as both academic and professional excellence. A special congratulations to Selina Lewis and Jillian Culbertson for being the first Belmont Abbey College students to win first place in two of the PBL National Championship competitions! We also want to thank the entire faculty who dedicatedly taught and mentored these students, as well as the NC and national PBL offices who worked hard to create a safe way for this event to continue.
