The Roundtable program was launched by Belmont Abbey College in the spring of 2019 as a partnership with local business and community leaders to discuss subjects and issues of interest to Gaston County and the surrounding region, with the goal of expanded collaboration among community partners.

The Future of Business Continuity Planning in Gaston County
As a follow-up to a survey we recently conducted with Roundtable attendees, this program topic will focus on commonalities and variables in disaster recovery plans that were in place before March of 2020 and how local organizations have made and are continuing to make changes/adaptations in their emergency preparedness plans, based on both the immediate and residual impacts of the pandemic – along with other potential threats to business continuity planning.

Presenters includes Mr. Donny Hicks, Gaston County Director of Economic Development; Dr. Jeff Booker, Superintendent of Gaston County Public Schools; Dr. John Hauser, President of Gaston College; and Dr. Bill Thierfelder, President of Belmont Abbey College, along with Dr. Travis Feezell, newly appointed Provost at BAC.
In addition, there was an update on what organizations in our community are doing collaboratively in developing a strategic plan to address these workforce needs.
