Belmont Abbey College Garners Numerous State Championships at Phi Beta Lambda 2019 State Leadership Conference

Belmont Abbey’s Phi Beta Lambda does it again!

Colleges and universities from all over North Carolina convened at the 65th Annual State Leadership Conference to compete. Phi Beta Lambda chapters from schools such as Eastern Carolina University, Wake Forest University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, and the University of Mount Olive, met share ideas and challenges and compete for an opportunity to advance to the National Leadership Conference.

The Abbey team, lead by Brad Frazier and Stephanie Miles, once again placed in multiple events during the conference and many students will continue on to the National Leadership Conference later this year in San Antonio.

Our Belmont Abbey winners include:

  • Accounting principles: Hailee Jarry, 4th place
  • Business Communication: Jillian Culbertson, 3rd place; Colton Brittain, 4th place
  • Business Decision Making (Team): Grant Finkbeiner and Kyle Karpinski, 4th place
  • Contemporary Spots Issues: Luke Glunt, 1st place; Johnny Gahagan 4th place
  • Cyber Security: Johnny Gahagan, 8th place
  • Entrepreneurship Concepts: George Uchaker, 5th place
  • Financial Concepts: Colton Brittain, 6th place
  • Hospitality Management (team): Chandler Echols and Andrew Pegram, 6th place
  • Impromptu Speaking: Jimmy Hartley, 1st place
  • Information Management: Tyler Gregor, 4th place
