James Buie Scholarship
Last year Belmont Abbey College, the Gaston County Police Department and Gaston County Schools announced the James Buie Scholarship Program which provides a full scholarship for selected students in pursuit of a Criminal Justice degree at Belmont Abbey College. Read all about it here.

Baseball
Belmont Abbey Baseball battled 11th-ranked Columbus State through 21 combined innings Monday afternoon but fell short in both games of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional championship round, 5-0 in 12 and 10-7. Read all about it here.

Belmont Abbey Cheerleading celebrated big wins on Saturday, taking its division and Grand Champion honors at the 2018 Clash of the Conferences Collegiate Cheer Competition. Read all about it here.
Cycling
The Belmont Abbey men’s cycling team swept the podium Sunday, taking the top three spots in the Atlantic Coast Cycling Conference Championship’s Criterium. Read all about it here.
Highlights
Southern Forensic Championship
The Belmont Abbey Debate Team returned from Spokane, Washington after competing in the International Public Debate Association’s National Championship. In individual debate, four of six students broke into the top 32 for their divisions, and all advanced into the top 16 rounds.

Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., is recommended in the 2018-2019 edition of The Newman Guide, the flagship project of The Cardinal Newman Society that recommends 28 Catholic colleges, universities and higher education programs for excellence in faithful Catholic education. New Study Abroad Opportunity
Belmont Abbey College has partnered with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano–UCSC) to provide an amazing opportunity for a select group of students to study in Milan, Italy for the full Fall Semester of 2018. Read all about it here.

At a time when liberal arts education seems increasingly imperiled by the rise of career-focused and STEM programs, Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina has recently founded the Honors College, a program dedicated to reading and discussing the Great Books of the Western tradition.
